Our Mission: To Encourage a living, personal relationship with Jesus
The CDSC team promotes Pope Francis’s vision for CHARIS (the Catholic Charismatic Renewal International Service), which is the revitalisation and renewal of the Church in order to evangelise the culture within and across the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.
Come to Lighthouse 12th October in Epsom
“These are the signs that will be associated with believers” Mark 16:17
We are very excited to announce that our second Lighthouse event is on Saturday October 12th, starting at 2pm and hosted from St Joseph’s Church in Epsom in Surrey.
Lighthouse is an afternoon of renewal for the Diocese where we pray for Jesus to shine His light into our lives, our families, our churches and our Diocese more powerfully. The first Lighthouse, held in November 2023 and was very well received and the vision we have is that the Lighthouse events are hosted in different areas of the Diocese each time, so this time we move to the North and to Epsom in Surrey. As with the first event, it’s action packed with worship, sound Catholic teaching on the theme, an opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, prayer ministry, fellowship and the event culminates in Holy Mass.
The theme for the afternoon is, “These are the signs that will be associated with believers” Mark 16:17. Whether you attended the wonderful Promise of the Father Life in The Spirit Seminar or not, you’ll love Lighthouse and will find it a deeply enriching and rewarding experience.
The address of the Lighthouse venue for this time is St Joseph’s Church, St Margaret Drive, Epsom, Surrey KT18 7JQ.
Come and join us for Lighthouse and let the light of Christ shine upon you, your family, your church and your community.
If you are unable to make it to Epsom you can tune into Lighthouse on the St Joseph’s Catholic Church YouTube Channel or view the feed on our Lighthouse page.
The Promise of the Father
The Promise of the Father is a season of teaching, prayer and formation leading to Pentecost 2024, on the coming and the works of the Holy Spirit on us, the body of Christ. The Holy Spirit is our free gift from God and this course is to supercharge understanding and faith so that as loving children we can unleash the power of the Holy Spirit and respond to our call. Each of the six sessions is centred on good teaching and prayer, building faith using scripture while reflecting on the traditions of the church. You can find all supporting content and videos of the excellent talks on the The Promise of the Father course homepage.
Arundel and Brighton Pastoral Plan "The Word Who is Life" Prayer
Lord, The Word who is Life.
May all the people of our Diocese
grow in openness
to the power of the Holy Spirit,
so that through a growth in understanding
and courage,
and truly open to your call,
we may bear powerful witness
to all around us,
for you are Lord for ever and ever,
Amen

CHARIS
Charismatic Renewal International Service (CHARIS) was created following an explicit request by Pope Francis to provide the Charismatic Renewal with one unified service. CHARIS has an International and Regional structure and in England and Wales we have a Diocesan structure of which our CDSC team is part.
You can find out more on CHARIS International here.
The National CHARIS England and Wales website is here.
Prayer Ministry
An aspiration of the CDSC is to establish well trained Prayer Ministry teams who are equipped for the service to offer prayer ministry in the moderated parishes across A&B Diocese. Content to support appropriate growth of Prayer Ministry to support A&B Diocese is starting to take shape on our dedicated Prayer Ministry page.
