ADoRE Mini-Retreat July 27th 2024

ADoRE have been running mini-retreats on Zoom since lockdown in 2020, as a development of the Days of Renewal they have hosted for the last 49 years, which have helped literally thousands of people develop a personal relationship with Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. The next mini-retreat is on the 27th July where you can join up to 150 people from all over the UK.

The mini-retreat is called “Holy Holy Holy” and is to grow our understanding and appreciation of how we are to respond to God’s call to holiness: co-operating with the Holy Spirit as He helps us to love and obey God’s will to love Him and to love our neighbour. The event will be held on 27th July between 10am & 1pm and includes Mass, Adoration, Praise, Prayer for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and an inspiring guest speaker Ros Powell.

What is ADoRE?
ADoRE (Alton Day of Renewal) is a monthly meeting of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal formed in 1975 and blessed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit ever since. We are now one of the longest continually running Charismatic Days of Renewal in Britain, dedicated to the encouragement of a personal relationship with God through his Son, Jesus Christ, and the charisms of his Holy Spirit. We provide spiritual refreshment through a programme of prayer, Eucharist, adoration, praise, prophecy, inspired teaching and healing ministry.

CELEBRATE Trust is a Catholic ministry of 30 years, that inspires and equips people of all ages to live an authentic Christian life in the power of the Holy Spirit, in support of the family, to form the next generation and encourage local community. Through their network of volunteers, they run events, host a variety of online activities, and produce resources to grow and sustain faith.

They are excited to announce a new national CELEBRATE weekend for all the family, entitled CELEBRATE Joy on Saturday 21 – Sunday 22 September 2024 at St Thomas Aquinas School, Birmingham. It’s an event where all ages will be refreshed in the love and joy of God and they are inviting inspirational speakers to reawaken faith through talks, worship, workshops, prayer ministry. Bishop David Evans and Bishop David Oakley will be celebrating Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available during the weekend. There will be seven children’s and youth groups providing relevant and fun teaching for ages 3- 22years as well as a creche with a video link.

“The Promise of The Father” has only just concluded and your A&B CDSC team are already preparing for our next event, Lighthouse II!

The date is set as Saturday 12th October 2024 [note the change of date!]. If you didn’t attend our first Lighthouse, it is an event where the Catholic charismatic faithful across A&B can collect for sound teaching, Holy Mass, confession and prayer ministry and to offer powerful worship and praise to God. If you attended and enjoyed “The Promise of the Father” then you will love Lighthouse. Please keep the afternoon (likely start time is 2pm) free in your diary and watch this space for more details including the location and speaker as our preparation takes shape.

Some scripture that was shared in the first Lighthouse which was held in November 2023:
“The city had no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gave it light, and its lamp was the Lamb. The nations will walk by its light, and to it the kings of the earth will bring their treasure.” Revelations 21:23-24
